Deidre Cauwell

Deirdre Caulwell

Director

Ms Caulwell has worked in the education sector for 33 years. She qualified as a kindergarten teacher in 1974 through the University of Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). After two years in classroom teaching she enrolled at the University of Natal and completed a Diploma in Specialized Education. She has worked as a remedial therapist and distance education manager. Ms Caulwell spent 11 years with READ Educational Trust before joining the ASHA Pre-school Association as CEO in 2004. She became Director of the ASHA Trust in 2008 and has guided the organisation’s development since.

Mr Richard Ferrer - Finance BEE Manager

Richard Ferrer

Finance and BEE Manager

Mr Ferrer is a retired businessman who graduated from the University of Natal with an economics degree. With over 30 years’ management experience, he has held various executive and management roles in the corporate sector with amongst others, Unilever, Beecham (U.K.), Barlow Manufacturing and Tek Electronics.  Mr Ferrer joined ASHA Trust as Financial Manager in 2008 and drives the organisation’s BEE funding development.

Ipeleng Mohlala

Ipeleng Mohlala

ECD Projects Manager

Mrs Mohlala joined ASHA Trust as an Office and Project Administrator in January 2013.  She holds a National Diploma in HR Management and a Certificates in Project Administration and Social Enterpreneurship. She was previously with Trade and Industrial Policy Strategies (TIPS) for five years. She is responsible for coordinating and managing various ASHA programme interventions and related events.

Nolo Bokaba

Letlhogonolo (Nolo) Bokaba

PA to Director/Office Coordinator

Ms Bokaba joined ASHA Trust in December 2016. She holds a National Diploma in Business Communications from Tshwane University of Technology and majored in Advertising & Marketing Communications and Communications Science. She has experience in marketing and secretarial duties and was previously with Janine Lazarus Media Consultancy for 5 years.

Ms Desiree Tomes - Senior Trainer Assessor

Senior ECD Trainer and Assessor

Ms Tomes is a SETA accredited moderator, assessor; a high scope ECD trainer and is qualified to teach MATAL ECD programmes.  She has over 30 years’ experience in the ECD teaching and training sector. A recipient of the National Teaching Award for Best Teaching Practices in ECD (2004), Ms Tomes was involved in writing unit standards for ECD Level 4. She also contributed to writing Grade R elements of the National Curriculum Statement and is trained on the Curriculum Assessment Programme Statement (CAPS). She joined ASHA Trust as a Senior Trainer in 2009, facilitating training, mentoring ECD practitioners and developing unit standards.

Mrs Namsie Lesito - ECD Trainer Assessor

Mrs Lesito has over 24 years’ experience in the ECD sector. After completing her ECD training, she spent 10 years as a nursery school principal.  She went on to work for Greater Soweto Early Childhood Development, Grow Early Learning Trust and SANTS as a trainer, fieldworker and toy librarian.  A qualified assessor and high scope ECD trainer, Mrs Lesito joined ASHA in 2010 and presents ASHA training programmes across Gauteng.

Ms Fikile Moloto - ECD Trainer Assessor

ECD Trainer and Assessor

Ms Moloto is a qualified assessor with a diploma in Early Childhood Development.  She has over 22 years’ experience and has worked in an ECD capacity at various organisations, including Kelru, Grow Early Learning Trust, SANTS, the University of Witwatersrand and the Department of Education. Ms Moloto is currently employed with ASHA Trust as a trainer and assessor.

Mrs Maletsatsi Taunyane - ECD Trainer AssessorMaletsatsi Taunyane

ECD Trainer and Assesor

Mrs Taunyane is a qualified teacher and accredited assessor and facilitator.  Her experience in the ECD sector spans over 30 years, including teaching with the Department of Education; managing Kagiso Child Welfare programmes and working as a facilitator and assessor for Grow Early Learning Trust.  Mrs Taunyane joined ASHA in 2012 as facilitator and assessor.

Candace RambharosCandace Rambharos

Mrs Rambharos has a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Psychology. She has been involved in the Education Sector for over ten years; and is an accredited Assessor, Facilitator, Mentor and Coach. Mrs Rambharos has worked throughout Gauteng, training and developing School Management teams and Educators.

Gertrude SitholeGertude Sithole

Gertrude joined the team in September 2014. She has over 20 years’ experience in the early childhood development sector with the main focus on centre monitoring and support. She holds a Diploma in Public Relations and is currently studying towards a Bachelor Degree in Education (Foundation Phase) through UNISA.

Nontsapo Pasiya

ECD Trainer and Assessor

Nontsapo joined ASHA Trust in May 2015. She is a registered Assessor, Facilitator and Moderator with 8 years’ experience in the early childhood development sector. She has worked with Ntataise Trust umbrella bodies. She holds certificates in Public Management and Project Management for Public Officials from Regenesys and University of Pretoria respectively. She is currently studying towards a Bachelor Degree in Education (Foundation Phase) through UNISA.
